Sunnies for Schools Program

The eyes are 10x more sensitive to UV damage than the skin. Imagine how much that equates to over a lifetime!

Martin and Rotary Victor Harbor have teamed up to launch the Sunnies For Schools Program to help protect the eyes of our future generation from the harmful effects of UV.

Prolonged exposure to UV rays can cause damage to the eyes, including cataracts, macular degeneration, and skin cancer around the eyelids.

Children are especially susceptible to these effects because their eyes are more sensitive than adult eyes and they tend to spend more time outdoors.

Additionally, children receive a lifetime cumulative exposure to UV rays, so it is important to start protecting their eyes from an early age.
