Your optical extras run out December 31st!
What does the end of the year mean to you? If you were to ask any of us at See, it means Christmas lunch with the family, presents for the kids, and 2 weeks off work (woohoo)!
However, if you have private health insurance, there is one more thing to think about. Before you start stressing out over presents for all your nieces and nephews, check to see if you’re entitled to money from your health insurance. If you have optical extras, don’t forget that you have money sitting in their coffers waiting for you to use towards glasses every year. For most health insurers, if you don’t use your yearly entitlement by December 31st, you essentially forfeit your money. In some cases, this can be in excess of $300!
Check if you’re eligible
If you’re part of any of these health funds with optical extras, you’ll want to act quickly if you haven’t already:
- Medibank Private
- Health Partners
- Teacher’s Health Fund
- Police Health
- Australian Unity
There are other insurers that will offer the same benefits, so if you’re unsure about what you’re covered for, give our friendly team a call, or email us and we can give you an idea regarding your entitlements.
